BRICK TYPES AND SIZES

Brick is available in many varieties and sizes. Names and sizes are not always standard in the industry and coring types will vary among manufacturers.

Modular units are given nominal dimensions. These dimensions are equal to the actual dimensions of the unit plus an amount allowed for the mortar joint, not to exceed one-half inch. Typically the amount allowed is three-eighths or one-half inch. Non-modular units are sized by Unit’s actual dimensions.

In addition to the varieties shown below, brick is available to meet many other structural and aesthetic needs. Check with local manufacturers for special shapes required to make water tables, windowsills, brick shelves, curbs, an angled look, hinged look and more.
